Claire Dalloz is an internationally certified Yoga Teacher at the 500 hour level (RYT500). She is a member of the Swiss Yoga Union and on the list of recognised Yoga teachers with Health Insurances.  Claire is co-owner of YogaTopia, a beautiful Yoga Studio in Herrliberg on the banks of Lake Zürich.

Brought up in Nigeria, West Africa, where her childhood was spent mainly outdoors, close to nature, Claire experienced life as one of freedom, movement and unity with her surroundings. She also experienced the African way of living in a community, sharing and looking out for each other. These core ingredients of her childhood are what she found again when introduced to Hatha Yoga during her studies in Bath. So it was inevitable that Yoga and all it stands for became and defined her life.

Claire regularly leads Retreats, Workshops and Teacher Trainings. In 2012 and 2013 she was invited to take part as a guest teacher in the 39th and 40th (Jubilee Year) EU Yoga Congress in Zinal/CH.

Claire is grateful to and for the many wonderful and inspirational teachers (formal and informal) that she has met on her path. Her most recent teachers include Glenn Ceresoli (Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher), an inspiring and amazing teacher, dedicated to the path of yoga for over 30 years – thank you Glenn! - Stephen Thomas, Lance Schuler, Bruno Dietziker and so many more. On a daily basis her most important teachers remain her students and her family without whom she could not have progressed in her understanding of Yoga and its manifold effects/benefits to life. My deepest heartfelt gratitude goes out to you.

Claire’s Yoga studies started during her University years in the 80’s in Bath. Many years later she discovered Sivananda Yoga in New York and Iyengar Yoga in England. In the 90’s, on returning back to Switzerland, she went to her first Astanga Vinyasa Yoga class taught by Bruno Dietziker and was immediately hooked! The powerful and dynamic Astanga practice suited her personality, challenged her to the core and changed her life in so many positive ways. She was so overawed by this practice that she decided it was time to share it with others and started teaching small groups at home. Simultaneously she began teaching at Yoga Works for Bruno and at Airyoga.

In 2005 she successfully completed an International Teacher Training course in Zürich, under the professional guidance of Clive Radda, Glenn Ceresoli and Lance Schuler. Claire regularly visits workshops here and abroad with international yogis such as Shiva Rea, Dharma Mittra, Anna Forrest, David Swenson, amongst others, and had the privilege of joining a week’s workshop with Sri Pattabhi Jois in London in 2000.  Claire’s teaching style is influenced by the powerful Astanga vinyasa Yoga and the detailed precision of Iyengar Yoga. She teaches powerful, dynamic flow classes guiding her students to test their own limits but always emphasising a safe practice that respects each body’s physical limitations.

Claire is also a certified fitness teacher (AFAA) and spent many years, teaching, and managing fitness classes. (Aerobics, Bodytoning, Stretch, Step). She has a background in medical massage therapy and worked in a doctor’s practice as well as leading her own massage practice for a few years.
