100 hour Hatha Yoga Immersion and Personal Development course

From January - June 2020 Claire will offer a process-oriented course that will deeply transform you and your understanding of the practices of yoga. The organisation of the course will be on a modular basis located at YogaTopia in Herrliberg. The 5th and final module will take place during a week's retreat in a beautiful location in Italy. The number of participants is limited in order to ensure maximum individual attention and to keep the group as a harmonious whole.

Module 5 - the Retreat

7 day retreat in the beautiful, newly-renovated Boutique Hotel Country House Montessino, Italy. In the distant past on one of the picturesque hills of the Monferrato, the hamlet of Montessino belonged to a large Italian wine-growing family. In 2016 Claudia and Alessandro acquired one of the historic houses (built 1850) and restored it with great passion and care for detail. This is where we will spend our final week of the 100 hour immersion course together. This is truly a place to “lean back and enjoy the pleasures of life in harmony with nature, following the motto Carpe Diem” as they say on their website.

Corfu Yoga Retreat with Claire Dalloz

Week 1: 4th to 11th July 2020

Beautiful golden light, silvery-shimmering Olive groves, hidden beach coves with a turquoise-blue sea and long stretches of sandy beach - these are all perfect ingredients for a Yoga holiday away from the stresses and strains of daily life.

You will stay in Club Mythos Corfu situated in the picturesque village of Arillas. Centrally situated and yet peaceful and quiet. The beach, cafés, bars and little shops are just a 5-minute walk away. The hotel is surrounded by olive groves and offers its guests the opportunity to relax on the beach or enjoy long walks to hidden coves or old mountain villages.

In the first week we will enjoy an extended morning practice of 3 to 3.5 hours. At daybreak we will greet the new morning in silence with a meditation, kriya and pranayama practice. After that we will flow in a dynamic asana practice in which the focus is on the precise placement of the body so that body, mind and soul, as a team, become one-pointed in their focus. In this way we create conscious awareness, restore balance and connect to our inner essence. Allow yourself to be inspired!

In this first week the afternoons are free for you to enjoy the beautiful beaches, walk in the cool olive groves, or simply treat yourself to a massage and relax in a hammock in the shade. This week can be visited together with week 2 or they can be booked separately.

During week 2 we will practice 5 to 5.5 hours a day. The morning schedule is the same as during week 1 but in the evening we will enjoy 2 hours of restorative/yin yoga in addition to mantra practice. Thus week 2 is an intensive yoga week.

Claire’s teaching focuses on correct alignment in order for optimal breathing and flow of energy to take place. Each and every moment on or off the mat is an opportunity to live and breathe freely - it begins with conscious placement of the body, evening out imbalances and ultimately finding peace of mind! Claire adapts her classes to suit the needs of the participants and where necessary provides modifications of positions so that each participant is able to practice at his level of experience and deepen his experience.

This retreat will include a daily integrated yoga practice, free time to relax or explore and afternoons that focus on different creative aspects and practices. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy SUP Yoga, meditation walks and a special closing circle overlooking the magical Es Vedra at sunset.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Chettinad Retreat, a 400-year-old finca nestled on 25.000 square meters of private land. The finca is a peaceful haven in the hills overlooking the rural Sant Agusti valley and located on the south west of the island. The pure, clean air and the view of distant peaks piercing through the morning mist is a perfect way to start off the day.

The geodesic yoga dome is a luminous and tranquil interior with views of the beautiful countryside to enhance a sense of well-being during our yoga and meditation practice. It is fully equipped with yoga mats and props so no need to bring anything.

The hillside retreat features a traditional farmhouse, one adobe cottage and two detached stone dwellings. When guests are in need of finding their own private space there are six outdoor terraces and patios to choose from. Natural rock landscaping with beds of fresh herbs, trees bearing almonds, figs, pomegranates and oranges, and hammocks dotted around the property give guests many options to choose from when in search of a chill zone or a secluded place to reconnect with nature or one’s self.

This yoga retreat is suitable for all levels of practitioner, beginners are welcome. All classes will be taught in English.

Thursday, 23rd September we celebrate our last evening together with an earlier dinner and enjoy a spectacular sunset over Es Vedra
No yoga on arrival and departure days
